Ein Gedicht, dass ich für meine Hausaufgabe in Englisch rausgesucht habe.

Afraid of looking in your eyes
I'm smiling, laughing, but it´s a lie,
inside me only darkness.
No way left for me to hide
and so I'm afraid of looking in your eyes.

Sometimes I'm running through the rain,
so that no one can see my pain.
Longing for you,
while I´m trying to keep myself away from you.,
but still I´m afraid of looking in your eyes.

For the people around me,
I try to be like any day,
hear myself say the things I always say.
But inside me there´s nothing the same.
Inside me I'm torn,
just by hearing someone call your name
and so I´m still afraid of looking in your eyes.

Yes, it's true,
I'm afraid of looking in your eyes.
Because you can look inside,
there would be no way left to hide.
You could see there´s is still love,
there are still feelings just for you.
But what if it hurts you to see this,
I don´t want to hurt you anymore
and so I'm afraid of looking in your eyes.
